David Howe gestaltete schon für unzählige Inszenierungen das Lichtdesign, darunter in London West-End-Produktionen The Mind Mangler, Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol, Magic Goes Wrong, Mischief Movie Night, Mischief Movie Night In (Streaming seasons), A Comedy About a Bank Robbery, McQueen, Quartermaine’s Terms, Bette and Joan, Birdsong, My Trip Down the Pink Carpet, Sweet Charity, Mrs Warren’s Profession, Private Lives, A Christmas Carol, The Norman Conquests, The Last Five Years, Tick Tick Boom!, Maria Friedman Re-Arranged, Rent, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Pageant, Forbidden Broadway und La Cage Aux Folles.

 

Am Broadway betreute er das Lichtdesign von The Mind Mangler, Private Lives, The Norman Conquests Trilogy und Primo; in UK u. a. Stücke wie Good Luck Studio, The Mind Mangler, The Dance of Death, Magic Goes Wrong, A Comedy About a Bank Robbery, Mischief Movie Night, Finding My Voice, Million Dollar Quartet, Dead Sheep, Bette and Joan, Chin Chin, 42nd Street, The Man from Stratford, Oklahoma!, Little Shop of Horrors, Singin’ in the Rain, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Our House, Fiddler on the Roof, South Pacific, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Me and My Girl und Carousel.

 

Er war verantwortlich für das Lichtdesign von Produktionen an der National Opera Beijing, der Philadelphia Opera, der British Youth Opera, der Royal Opera und vieler weiterer europäischen Häuser. Mit dem Scottish Ballet wurde The Scandal at Mayerling aufgeführt. Zu seinen aktuellen Arbeiten auf internationaler Bühne zählen Terrible Influence (YouTube World Tour), Sister Act, Miss Saigon, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver in Copenhagen, All My Sons (Hongkong Festival), The Sound of Music (Kairo und Beirut), Private Lives (Toronto), A Chorus Line (New Israel Opera), Chicago, Evita, Grease, Jesus Christ Superstar und Hair (Ljubljana Festival), Spring Awakening, The Full Monty, Cabaret (Frankfurt), Fame (Monaco), The Sound of Music Stars of the Musicals und Chicago (Malaysia), Woyzeck und The Roundabout (New York).
